The process of creating Designs around the Theme of these Blue Eggs has been a journey that transcends Time. It’s been about exploring Farm Life and Traditions. Their Symbolism, and the History they evoke. The Subtle Blue Color has been carefully thought out to evoke something Timeless, something that connects us with Nature, and with History.
I was initially drawn to the physical Beauty of the Egg itself. Eggs are not just biologically significant—they are also profoundly Symbolic across Cultures. The Egg, in many ways, represents New Life and Rebirth. It is also a Universal Object, found in almost every Culture across the World. But what intrigued me was the idea of the Egg not as a fresh, vibrant symbol of Life, but as an Antique Object—one that has weathered Time.
The Antique aspect of the Blue Egg became an obsession. I’ve always had a fondness for Antiques—objects imbued with Stories and History, Objects that tell of Farm Life and Forgotten Moments. As I researched further, I found that Blue Eggs, especially those found in Historical and Ancient Contexts, carried with them a fascinating weight. The Blue Tint is often associated with specific Birds, particularly the Robins, but in Historical and Archaeological Terms, it takes on a greater significance. Ancient Civilizations had a profound reverence for Eggs as Symbols of Fertility and Transformation, and the Color Blue is often associated with Heaven. Combining the two—the Blue Egg as an Antique Object—created an overwhelming sense of Nostalgia and Reverence.
I also couldn’t help but be Inspired by the way these Eggs evoke a sense of fragility. An Egg is an inherently Delicate Object—its Shell, though seemingly strong, can easily crack under pressure. It’s a perfect metaphor for the fragility of Life itself. In depicting these Eggs as Antique Objects, I wanted to capture the notion of something once vibrant and alive, now a Delicate Relic of the Past. The patina of age cracks, faded colors, and a gentle weathering of Time became integral to the process. These Eggs seem to have a Life of their own, each crack and discoloration telling its own Unique Story.
Eggs and their History and Symbolism are conveyed in the Work. There’s a Reverence for the Object that I try to channel into the Designs, as though I’m honoring the Quiet Beauty of the Egg and the mysteries it holds.
Antique Blue Eggs aren’t just any Shade of Blue. They are Soft, Muted, and slightly Faded over Time. Some are a Pale Robin’s Egg Blue, while others have a more Turquoise Hue, but always there’s a hint of Grey or Green, making them appear to have weathered Centuries of change.
Inspired by Traditional Still-life Artwork, where every surface is rendered with painstaking detail as if telling every part of the Story the Egg has to tell. I want my Viewers to feel as if they could reach out and hold these Eggs in their Hands, experiencing the weight of their History. I want the Viewer to feel as though they are witnessing these Eggs in a moment suspended in Time.
Throughout History, Eggs have been seen as potent Symbols. In my work, the Antique Blue Egg represents many things—Life, Fragility, and Transformation. Life is an obvious symbolism—the Egg is, after all, the beginning of New Life. But the Antique Blue Egg takes this one step further. It speaks to the passage of Time and the Cycles of Life. Eggs are like Antique Objects that have stood the test of Time.
As I continue to explore the concept of the Antique Blue Egg in my Designs, I find myself more and more connected to the deeper meanings these Eggs hold. They have become a Symbol not just of Life, but of everything that is Transient and yet Enduring. Each Egg tells its own Story, a quiet narrative of Time, Fragility, and Transformation.
Through these Pieces, I Hope to Inspire others to find Beauty in the details—those Moments that may seem small or insignificant, yet carry with them a Timeless Story. The Antique Blue Egg, in all its delicate, faded glory, serves as a reminder that even in the fragility of Life, there is an immense and enduring Beauty. These Designs capture that Beauty, preserve it in Time, and invite others to pause and reflect on the small, fleeting wonders that make up our World.
